Blackjack rules are quite simple: on your hands, you need to collect cards of 21 points or as close as possible to 21, but no more. A hand of more than 21 points is a bust and a loss. When you stop your game, you have collected blackjack (21 points exactly), busted or just stopped, that is, you do not want an extra card from the deck, the dealer starts his game and tries to score more points than you have, but not to bust.
That is the general idea of the game, now let's talk about the details. With the start of the round, the player and the dealer get two cards each. The player sees both his cards and only one dealer card.
So, the player can perform the following actions.
- Hit — take another card.
- Stand — stop playing with the achieved result.
- Double — double the initial bet.
- Split — if a player has two identical cards in his hand, he can split his hand, put a bet on each card and play on two hands. For example, you bet a dollar and get two Aces; you may split them, put another dollar on the second Ace and play as usual, but with two bets: draw cards for one Ace, then for the second.
- Surrender — if you immediately surrender the game, you lose only half of the bet. If the odds of winning are very small, you can give up the game immediately. For example, you have 16, and the dealer has an Ace as the first card. Note: not all variations of blackjack have the surrender option. Read carefully the blackjack rules in the online casino you play.

Blackjack Payouts
According to the blackjack rules, for a round won, you get a double bet. For example, if you bet a dollar and win, you get two dollars. The combination of a Ten and an Ace is an exception, for this combination a winning payment of 150% is assumed. For example, you bet a dollar and win with a combination of Ace + 10, blackjack, which means your win is 2.5 dollars.
Insurance — you can make an additional bet if the dealer has an Ace as the first card. In an online casino, the program automatically asks you if you want to put money on insurance.
Insurance is an additional bet of half your initial bet. If your initial bet is $2, then the insurance bet is $1. Insurance payouts are 2:1, i.e. if you bet a dollar on insurance and the dealer has a blackjack, then your insurance payout is $3.
However, experienced players do not like insurance, arguing that the dealer's odds of getting a blackjack with an Ace as the first card are less than 50%. In the long term, Insurance is a waste of money.
A Draw is when the dealer and the player have the same amount of points on their hands. In this case, the casino returns the player his initial bet, there is no win or loss.
Dealer Rules
The dealer has no right to split, double and surrender. The dealer must play according to clearly written rules: if the sum of his points is 16 or less, then he takes another card. If 17 or more, he stands. In some variants of blackjack, there are deviations in the rules for the dealer, but this is extremely rare.
Ace
Ace is a special blackjack card. Ace can be 11 or 1 point. It all depends on how many points you already have on other cards in your hand.
It is best to explain with a specific example. If you scored 7 points with the first two cards and then got an ace, then you have either 18 or 8 points. In this situation, if you want to stop, it will be considered that it is 18. If you want to take another card and get 6, then there will be no busting (18 + 6 = 24) because in this case, the Ace will count as 1 point, and you will have a total of 14 (7 + 1 + 6 = 14).
